Hello ASAAP Families! ASAAP made the decision to close our facilities on March 18th in an effort to do our part to flatten the curve and to prevent the spread of COVID-19. While this wasn't the final recommendation of the CDC or MSDH, we felt confident that we were making the best decision in such uncertain times. We are anticipating a time that we can all be together, but for now, we are depending on the direction of our local and state leadership and most of all, the guidance of The Holy Spirit in order to be safe. While times are still very uncertain, we have been asked to reopen to support those that are not able to provide consistent and safe care for their children while working. Now that we have the necessary PPE (personal protective equipment) and recommendations from the CDC on how to keep our staff and children safe, we feel led by The Lord and obligated to support our community by offering childcare. On Friday, April 24th, Governor Reeves lifted the Shelter-In-Place order and replaced it with a Stay-At-Home order. This order allows more non-essential businesses to re-open and is the first phase of many to gradually re-open our state. This order is expected to expire on Monday, May 11th and we anticipate the next order to lift additional bans. It is our goal to follow the leadership of our state and gradually open in the same manner. Phase 1 Open our Central location ONLY from Monday, May 4th through Thursday, May 28th, 7:30a-5:30p. Enrollment will be limited to 10 students per classroom. Students and staff will wear face masks even though they are not required by MSDH or CDC. Students' temperatures will be checked outside prior to being let inside the building, and will be checked 3 times each day. Students or staff members with any symptoms, including but not limited to — coughing, sneezing, runny nose and eyes, diarrhea, vomiting, or any other symptoms, will not be allowed to attend. We are aware that this is allergy season but we are not able to risk the chance of facility exposure. · These sessions will look completely different from what your children are accustomed to. We will limit the classroom capacity to 10 students. All items used by students (i.e., pencils, erasers, crayons etc.). All items used by students will be stored in a gallon Ziploc bag, disinfected each day, and will only be used by each individual student. · Students can bring their electronic devices and or work packets. Students will have time to complete their daily assignments in a structured environment where they can receive assistance. · Students will not be able to bring any toys or items that have to be hung up or stored. · Students will not be able to bring any outside food. · We plan to have enrichment activities each day. Students will do these activities as individuals but will be able to interact with other students from their seats. We do not foresee any reason for closing, but in the event that we choose to close, the unused portion of your tuition will be fully refunded. Deposits are non-refundable. Hello ASAAP Families, We are officially entering into our 4th week of Spring Break!!! It is hard to believe how quickly our world has changed within the last 30 days. This time last month, we were counting down to Spring Break, discussing vacation plans, and looking forward to some much needed time off. We may not have gotten to go on vacation and our plans may not have worked out, but we are getting a break. For this break, we should be forever grateful and take advantage of this reset and refocusing opportunity. We miss our ASAAP families so much, we can’t wait for things to get back to normal, and we wish more than anything that we could support you during this time. We have decided to remain closed as long as we are under the Governor’s Shelter-in-Place Order. We will continue to follow CDC recommendations and most importantly, the guidance of The Lord. At this time, we are not sure if schools will resume this academic year, but if they do, we will resume our normal after school program as soon as public schools reopen. However, based on the decision of neighboring states to remain closed due to the federal state testing waiver, we are anticipating the state of Mississippi possibly following suit. If schools do not resume this school year, we have made the decision to offer an extended school break camp and begin our full-day services as soon as it is deemed safe and restrictions are lifted. Possible Scenario: ASAAP will re-open on Monday, May 4th. This will be an extended school break camp. This program will be offered May 4th -May 29th prior to our Summer Program that begins on June 1st. It will only be offered at our Central location, Monday through Thursday from 7:30am-5:30pm. Spaces will be limited and registration will open on April 27th (One Time Registration Fee: $25, Tuition: $90/week). Please note that this scenario and date is TENTATIVE and may be changed, so be sure to follow our social media pages and read all correspondence.
