Hey ASAAP family!! What a whirlwind of a week. We are grateful for your love and support and are praying that your family remains healthy and safe. As of now all schools have been closed until April 17th, with a hopeful return date of April 20th. That leaves at least 3 weeks of distance learning.

We are hopeful that we can reopen the week of March 30th to provide assistance with distance learning and childcare for parents that are having to continue working. For our parents who are able to keep their children at home, we are sharing a schedule to ensure much needed structured and focused learning while at home.

Van and I have been homeschooling our children for almost 8 years. Having a schedule when we first started helped our family be more productive. We both work from home  as well as outside of the home. Having a schedule has helped us successfully run our own business and work our part time jobs.

Most of you will get your curriculum packets or Google classroom information this week. This week should be used as an extended Spring Break and a time to implement your new schedule. Use the next couple of days to review the schedule with your children and make necessary adjustments.

Here are a few tips:
-Get dressed everyday (It makes you more productive)
-Use a timer/clock and refer to the schedule when questions arise
(ie. What time is snack?, When can we go outside, How long do I have to read?)

-Limit screen time! Most of your child's work will be done online. It is important to limit unessential screen time to scheduled increments.
-Make sure your kids are playing. If they are the only child, PLAY WITH THEM!!
-Don't give up!! It will work!! IT HAS TO WORK!!!

-Create a Menu (I know it sounds OCD But, trust me...you'll thank me)

Remember, your children are used to a schedule. In order to maintain a sense of normalcy, consistency and productivity, follow the schedule. I know that it is overwhelming but the Lord will equip you with what you need and offer grace for what you lack.

I promise this schedule will keep your children from being bored and you from going insane:)

Be on the look out for weekly enrichment activities, that will give you journal prompts crafts and games. We love you so much and we miss you terribly!! See you soon :)
